Where is the college?

Engen is situated in the southwest of Germany, nestled between the southern Black Forest, the Swabian Mountains and Lake Constance near the Swiss border.

For over twenty years Jugendseminar Engen has been housed in a building formerly used for agricultural studies. It is surrounded by meadows, orchards and arable land and is situated near the Hegau volcanic cones. Looking to the east you can see the historic city of Engen. Towards the south the Alps can be seen in good weather.

Travelling by train:
Train line Stuttgart - Singen or Offenburg - Konstanz, get out at Engen. If the train does not stop in Engen, get out in Singen and take the regional course to Engen.

To walk to the seminar house will take about 8 minutes. Undercross the train line away from the station building. After that cross the street, turn left and follow the street for approx. 500 metres (1500 feet) parallel to the train line. Pass the supermarkets "Lidl", "ALDI" and "Edeka" until you see a restaurant called "Kapuzzinerstube". After this restaurant follow the footpath diagonally right. Stay in this direction and climb up the stairs (do not take the stairs to the chapel). If you reached the top of the stairs the seminar house is on the left hand (a long yellow building). The main entrance is from the street but you can also access the building on the rear side.

Travelling by car:
Take the Motorway A 81 Stuttgart – Singen. Exit Engen, approx. 10 km (6 miles) north of Singen. Follow the signs to Engen.

In Engen follow the signs to the hospital (called "Krankenhaus" or signposted with a red cross) (signposted on all access roads in Engen). Always stay on the priority road! After crossing the railroad turn left towards the hospital. After about 500 m (1 500 feet) you can see a supermarket called "Lidl" on the right side. After "Lidl" turn right into the street called "Ballenbergstraße" and after 50 m (150 feet) turn left into the "Hewenstraße" towards the hospital.

Directly before the access to the hospital turn right (up the hill) and follow the street (keep left up the hill). In the roundabout turn left. You are already in the "Goethestraße". Now there are approx. 200 metres (600 feet) left. On the right side there is a "Waldorf-Kindergarten" and on the left side is the seminar house "Seminarhaus Engen", a long yellow building. The parking lots are directly in front of it. If occupied turn left BEFORE reaching the parking lots and keep left. You can park your car opposite to the barn.
